Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Karamu website. Today you can apply for the restaurant pilot, explore the demo, and book a table at a restaurant on Karamu — so these terms are deliberately short. Restaurants running on Karamu are covered by their own service agreement.
A pilot, not general availability
Karamu is rolling out with a small group of pilot restaurants. Applying for the pilot registers your interest and lets us contact you about onboarding — it is not a contract to provide the service, and it does not guarantee a place, a price, or a start date. Features described on this site reflect the product today and our plans for it, and may change.
Booking through a restaurant
When you book a table through a restaurant’s Karamu page, your booking is with the restaurant — Karamu provides the booking service on its behalf. If the restaurant asks for a deposit, the payment is processed by our payment provider (Paystack) and settles to the restaurant, and the restaurant’s deposit terms are shown before you confirm. Use the private manage link from your confirmation to change or cancel a booking.
The demo
The demo restaurant exists so you can try the booking flow end to end. It is not a real venue — a demo booking doesn’t reserve a table anywhere.
Using this site
When you use this site, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information when you apply for the pilot or book a table.
- Use the site only for lawful purposes, and not to disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it.
- Not submit information or make bookings on behalf of someone else without their permission.
The pilot offer
Our offer for the first 50 restaurants — two months free and founder-led onboarding — is a launch-period incentive. We may change or close it, and confirmed terms are set out in your onboarding agreement when your restaurant goes live.
Restaurant accounts
Access to the Karamu dashboard for restaurants is governed by the service agreement your restaurant enters at onboarding, not by these website terms.
Our content
The Karamu name, logo, copy, and the designs on this site belong to Karamu Hospitality Ltd. You may share links to the site, but please don’t copy or reuse our branding or content without our permission.
No warranties & liability
This site is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to this site.
